	Since the 1920s, Kaweah Delta Medical Center has provided care to the residents of Visalia and California's Central Valley. With a population of over 130,000, Visalia is perfectly sized to provide all of the amenities but none of the hassles of urban living. We are located footsteps from the Sierra Nevada. With a 3 1/2 hour drive, one can visit the San Francisco Bay Area, the Monterey Peninsula, the Central California Coast and Los Angeles. Additionally, the cost of housing is a fraction of that in other areas of the state. We offer compensation and benefits that are highly competitive. Our Emergency Medicine Program welcomed its first class of 6 residents on July 1, 2013. The class of 2017 was expanded to 13 residents. Due to the wonderful unopposed learning that comes with a new graduate medical education program, our residents have had amazing experiences. We have expert core and clinical ED faculty as well as an extensive medical simulation lab (the largest in the region and with the latest 3G Sim Man and Trauma Man)and a new Simulation Fellowship. We provide research and medical writing opportunities and expertise as well as cutting edge ED advances: scribes, rapid medical evaluation system, mid-level providers, comprehensive ED and in-patient electronic health records. Our ED faculty is fully integrated into hospital and medical staff leadership (prior Chief of Staff, current hospital Board of Trustees, P&T, Credentials, and more). Additionally we have 24/7 ED Pharmacists for codes, procedural sedation and treatment protocols.
